This first approch trough functionnality can then become a new base for some work in dance, improvisation and performing arts.
Michel also propose to the participants, some single sessions, ( FI / Functional Integration), based on self- improvement in a very specific, personnal and refined way.

About Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method is a form of somatic education that uses gentle movement and directed attention to improve movement and enhance human functioning.  By expanding one's self-image through movement sequences that bring attention to the parts of the self that are outside of our awareness, the Method enables you to include more of yourself in your functioning movements. Students could become more aware of their habitual neuromuscular patterns and rigidities and could expand their options for new ways of moving, thinking, feeling... One application of the Feldenkrais approach is for the reduction of pain, and the restoration of abilities in case of orthopedic or neurological problems; another is for artists and sportspeople to further their craft/skills and otherwise mostly anybody can find relevance in the Feldenkrais Method to find more ease, more comfort, less struggle and a better quality of moving and interacting in their daily life. The Feldenkrais Method consists of two complementary approaches:  - Awareness through Movement is based on verbally guided lessons experienced in groups. These precisely structured movement explorations involve thinking, sensing, moving and imagining. The emphasis is on learning which movements work better for oneself and noticing the quality of these changes in your body. Through increased awareness, you might learn to abandon unnecessary habitual patterns of movements and develop new alternatives, possibly resulting in improved flexibility, coordination and an overall experience of ease and comfort within the body.

- Functional Integration involves private lessons with a teacher. It is primarily non-verbal and relies upon touch. The practitioner communicates how you organise your body and, through gentle touching and movement, conveys the experience of comfort, pleasure and ease of movement while you learn to reorganize your body and behaviour in new and more expanded functional motor patterns. Through respect for your abilities, qualities and integrity, the practitioner creates an environment in which you can learn comfortably.

Awareness through Movement and Functional Integration address many needs and interests. The Feldenkrais Method promotes general well-being through techniques that involve both body and mind. Among the many benefits are increased suppleness and efficiency of movement, better posture, increased energy, better mood, and enhanced alertness, thinking and imagination.

"The basis of all learning is the reciprocity between mind and body…"
"When you know what to do, you can do what you want" - Moshe Feldenkrais.
