About RECOUP Research and Training Centre
RECOUP is an Internationally renowned Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation Centre specialising in the prevention, assessment, treatment and research of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), other Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD), and Childhood Disabilities through an Interdisciplinary approach.
RECOUP is the world leader in treatment of RSI and MSD having successfully treated over 1,00,000 clients, including several from USA, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Israel, China, Thailand, Korea, Japan, UAE, Oman, Pakistan, Singapore, Zimbabwe, etc., using its proprietary physical therapy and mind-body approach called the SHARAN'S Protocol (Skilled Hands-on Approach for Release of myofascia, Neural and Soft-tissue mobilisation). The Health and Safety Executive and the Department of Health (Govt. of UK) have proposed to fund a research study in 2010 to document RECOUP's extraordinary results with RSI as compared to the poor outcomes routinely robtained in the NHS and private clinics in UK. RECOUP is one of the world's largest Ergonomics Consultancies with over 70 major corporate clients constituting the who's who of the Indian industry. RECOUP has treated over 10,000 clients with various types of neuromotor disabilities from across the world, using its exclusive functional rehabilitation approach.
RECOUP Research and Training Centre is conducting over 50 cutting edge research projects on MSD, Ergonomics and Cerebral Palsy, including world's largest study of Computer Related RSI covering 35,000 subjects (2001-09), and several research papers have already been published in prestigious journals.
RECOUP has the largest Physical Therapy Department in the world, with over 100 therapists, and undertakes over 25 major conferences, courses and workshops per year.

CME on Recent Trends in Myotherapy and Ergonomics for Physiotherapists in Chennai

Chennai: The city physiotherapists updated their knowledge on newer technique in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD’S) and application of Ergonomics in a Continuous Physiotherapy Education Programme (CPE) organised by Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP), Chennai Branch in Vels University, Velan Nagar, Pallavaram, Chennai on April 3-4, 2010. Around 240 physiotherapists from different parts of Tamil Nadu attended one day symposium on Myotherapy Techniques, Ergonomics and Taping followed by one day workshop on Myotherapy. Four experts in myotherapy and ergonomics from RECOUP Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation Centre conducted the training.
